Dos and Don’ts to Follow within the First Few Days at Your New Job…

The first days on the new job are slightly intimidating a majority of times. If you have just landed a new job, the following dos and don’ts could help you to remain comfortable at your new workplace and be in harmony with your new manager and colleagues within few days:

Become an Observer and Absorber:

Get to know the culture, people, working environment, and office politics at your new place of work. This will help you to start working accordingly and appropriately.

Do Not Be Shy:

Say yes whenever you are asked to join your team members for a lunch, get-together, friendly match, etc. It is always helpful to be the part of the excitement and letting your colleagues know you like meeting and interconnecting with them.

Do Not Hesitate from Asking Questions:

It is necessary to ask questions as you start getting acquainted with the people, projects, and practices at your new place of job. In order to speed up, it is required of you to show concern about your working environment and procedures. Writing down even the smallest and simplest details could be really helpful in understanding the new environment and your job expectations.

Be Bold:

Even if you do not know everything, it is a great idea to speak up your mind, give suggestions, and contribute wisely to let your employers know they were right in selecting you. It doesn’t mean you have to act overconfidently – but smartly.

Be a Helper:

Act as an initiator. It is totally off-putting to sit down and wait for others to tell you what to do. The best thing is to volunteer and assist your colleagues in the completion of their tasks. In this way, you will not only learn many useful things about your job; it will also help you to build rapport with the team members and your boss.
